TPACK

Technology/TPack Lesson
First, provide some details regarding:
  • ·         Learners: 3rd grade students
  • ·         Learning outcomes: The students will gain a better understanding of multiplication by 6.
  • ·         Assessment: I will track the students’ progress by walking around and seeing the success of the game. I will ask students individually to answer the questions, which will give me a better understand of the students’ knowledge of the concepts.

Second, break down your activity into a timeline of planned events and procedures. Here you should describe what students and the teacher will be doing chronologically during the activity. Below is one of the good examples from previous reflections:
  • ·         The lesson will begin with introducing the students to the YouTube video Six Times Table Song! By Mr. DeMaio. I will pass out a sheet with the lyrics on it for the students to look at. We will go over the multiplication facts and then make the multiplication flower on a separate sheet of paper.
  • ·         The students will then spend the next 10 minutes coming to the board to use the smartboard to answer multiplication problems the teacher has put up there.
  • ·         Following the whole group assessment the students will then complete their own math facts of 6 worksheet.

·         Then the students get into groups of 3 and begin playing Catch The Stars Multiples of 6
Reflection:

  • I feel that my lesson did good. I do however wish that I had focused more on the actual teaching of the lesson and not just the song and the flower. I also wish that I had a bit more student interaction with the smartboard.

  1. I think your lesson was very good! Like you said in your reflection, I do wish we would have been able to interact a little more. I think your lesson plan was very good though. It would have been great if you would have had us come up and answer questions on the board. The game also sounds like a lot of fun! Next time you should definitely use it! You did a great job! :)

  2. I enjoyed your lesson. I thought it was creative how you made a flower to keep the children engaged. I agree that their should have been more teaching involved with lesson. Overall I believe you did an amazing job.
